James Sherson

Since graduating from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, James has called Mount Maunganui home and now considers himself a Bay of Plenty local. He is ably supported by his wife Dolly and has three young daughters.

James has been part of the YRW team for over ten years and became a Director in August 2020. He is particularly interested in agribusiness and construction, though his wide-ranging skills are valuable to all small to medium-sized businesses.

He enjoys advising on tax planning and budgeting, as well as accounting software solution. James’ clients also benefit from his advanced skills in cloud-based software, Xero.

Outside of work, James is a qualified lifeguard and member of the Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service. He is also heavily involved in the Club’s junior surf programme, with all three of his children participating in the junior surf ‘nippers’ programme and James undertaking active roles on the junior surf committee and as a coach.
