Marie Cooper

Originally from Gisborne and now a long-time Bay of Plenty local, Marie joined YRW as a Director in 2022. Since then, she has become a trusted adviser to a diverse range of clients, delivering both technical and practical support across a variety of sectors.

Marie brings over a decade of senior finance experience from her time at Ballance, complemented by an earlier career with one of the Big Four accounting firms. She holds a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato and combines strong technical capability with commercial acumen.

At YRW, Marie has built enduring relationships with clients and business partners, offering proactive, tailored advice that supports each business's unique needs. Marie is passionate about understanding what drives clients’ businesses and helping them navigate challenges and opportunities. Delivering practical, trusted advice that makes a real impact is what she enjoys most.

Outside of work, Marie enjoys spending time with family and friends, including pounding the local pavements for a run, or out on the water, fishing with partner Brendon on their boat.
